Here’s what happened at the 2019 Women’s Conference

With more than 750 guests in attendance, the 14th annual St. Louis Business Journal Women’s Conference kicked off Friday morning with a keynote from best-selling author Fran Hauser. During her talk, Hauser discussed tips on handling feedback and pay negotiations.

The event, which took place at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel, continued with three morning sessions from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The sessions featured speakers such as Natalea Simmons, Drs. Heidi Coco, Kristen Fisher and Melissa Muench, and Nancy Schnoebelen Imbs.

The next round of morning breakout sessions took place from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Angela Miller, Angela Cody, Dawn Gipson, LaShana Lewis and Erin Joy.

A luncheon keynote by Deborah Roberts, a correspondent for ABC newsmagazine “20/20,” “World News Tonight” and a substitute anchor on “Good Morning America,” followed around 12:40 p.m. Roberts discussed the power of speaking up and speaking out for women.

Three more breakout sessions occurred from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., following Roberts’ talk. Speakers included Susan Kidder, Carolyn Kindle Betz, Michelle Smallmon and Beth Chesterton. Two more sessions followed from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., featuring Simone Cummings and Helen Jardine.
